About the Role

Boats Daily is seeking a highly skilled Filmmaker / Video Producer to lead visual storytelling across our marine and luxury-focused projects. This role demands technical excellence, creative vision, and professionalism in both production and client-facing environments.

You will be responsible for capturing cinematic visuals, producing polished edits, and maintaining high production standards across a variety of content formats — from yacht walkthroughs and interviews to lifestyle campaigns and branded storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Lead video production from concept through final delivery
  • Capture high-quality photo and video content on location
  • Film walkthroughs, interviews, interiors (homes or yachts), product features, and branded lifestyle content
  • Edit and color-grade video content to meet premium brand standards
  • Manage media files, backups, and organized delivery workflows
  • Travel regularly for shoots (local, national, and international as needed)
  • Maintain professional communication with internal team members, leadership, and clients
  • Receive and implement feedback constructively, ensuring projects are completed to expectation
  • Set a strong example of professionalism, reliability, and positive attitude on set

Minimum Equipment Requirements

  • Full-frame camera capable of shooting 4K at 60fps
  • Professional gimbal system (DJI RS3, RS2, or equivalent)
  • Wide-angle fixed aperture lens (16–35mm or similar)
  • Standard zoom fixed aperture lens (24–70mm or similar)
  • Wireless lavalier microphone system (Rode Wireless GO 2, DJI Mic, or comparable)
  • On-camera shotgun microphone
  • Drone (Mavic 3, Air 2S, or newer recommended)
  • Drone ND filter set

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in marine, luxury, automotive, or lifestyle industries
  • Advanced lighting setup knowledge
  • Motion graphics or title animation experience
  • Experience directing on-camera talent

Required Technical Expertise

Production Skills
  • Advanced understanding of exposure, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance
  • Strong grasp of focal length and lens selection for storytelling
  • Experience executing smooth gimbal movements (push, pull, pan, orbit)
  • Ability to track moving subjects and perform dynamic orbit shots
  • Experience using off-camera lighting setups
  • Skilled in working with ND filters for proper exposure control
  • Strong understanding of composition when capturing people, spaces, and objects
Drone Operation (Required)
  • FAA Part 107 Certification required
  • Ability to safely operate and capture cinematic drone footage
  • Proficiency in hand takeoffs and landings
  • Skilled in forward/backward flight, upward pans, and orbit tracking shots
  • Understanding of drone safety protocols (Return-to-Home, altitude limits, airport regulations)
  • Experience using ND filters for aerial footage
Post-Production Skills
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
  • Ability to edit RAW photos in Adobe Lightroom
  • Experience creating and applying custom presets
  • Strong ability to color grade LOG footage
  • Working knowledge of Final Cut or DaVinci Resolve is a plus
