Aquila Catamarans wrapped up a strong showing at the 2025 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, where the brand introduced two major models to the public: the Aquila 36 Molokai, making its world premiere, and the Aquila 46 Yacht, presented for the first time in the United States. The five-day event, held from October 29 to November 2, also showcased several models from the company’s wider range, including the Aquila 54 Yacht, 50 Yacht, 47 Molokai, and 42 Coupe. Altogether, the lineup highlighted Aquila’s ongoing growth and expanding presence in global markets.
Global Debut: Aquila 36 Molokai
The all-new Aquila 36 Molokai made its international debut in Fort Lauderdale. Designed for dedicated offshore anglers who still want comfort and versatility, the 36 Molokai is built around performance, efficiency, and durability.
At 11.63 meters in length with a 3.59-meter beam, the model features a double-stepped hull, infused vinylester construction, carbon-reinforced sections, and a full carbon hardtop to reduce weight without compromising strength.
Power options include twin 300 hp Mercury V8 outboards, with optional upgrades to V10 engines offering 400, 425, or 500 hp for even more offshore capability. Weighing around 8,800 kg at full load and carrying 508 gallons of fuel, the 36 Molokai is designed for range, stability, and long days on the water.
The single-level deck allows easy movement from bow to stern. A central aft hatch with an integrated dive ladder, a tuna door, and a bait-prep station highlight the model’s fishing-first design.
Inside, a starboard-side cabin provides overnight accommodations with a double berth, toilet, sink, and optional air-conditioning—an uncommon feature in this size category.
Jean Raas, CEO and Chief Product Officer of Aquila USA, emphasized that the 36 Molokai was shaped through direct feedback from anglers. He noted that the dedicated toilet compartment inside the cabin is a defining feature that sets this boat apart from competitors in the segment.
U.S. Premiere: Aquila 46 Yacht
Following its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the Aquila 46 Yacht made its first American appearance at the Fort Lauderdale show. Measuring 14.36 meters in length with a 7.10-meter beam, this model advances Aquila’s approach to luxury cruising catamarans, offering generous living areas, refined design, and strong performance.
The hull is constructed using infused vinylester with a PVC core and watertight forward and aft bulkheads, notably without any plywood in the structural components.
Inside, the panoramic salon features large windows, a U-shaped dining area, a full galley, and an opposite sofa. The flybridge, protected by a fiberglass hardtop, includes sunpads, a wet bar, and a helm station with seating for three.
Cabin layouts range from three to five staterooms. In the three-cabin version, the full-beam owner’s suite includes a king-size bed, private bathroom with double sinks, and a separate shower. Guest cabins feature queen-size beds, private bathrooms, and large hull windows for natural light.
The Aquila 46 Yacht is offered with twin Volvo Penta D4 engines (320 hp), optional D6 engines (480 hp), or 550 hp Yanmar alternatives. With a standard 1,800-liter fuel capacity and an optional 800-liter auxiliary tank, the yacht is prepared for extended cruising. Freshwater and blackwater tanks of 800 and 240 liters respectively support longer trips.
Jean Raas described the 46 Yacht as a way to bring innovations found on larger models into a more accessible size range, delivering capability and luxury for couples or small groups. Alain Rass, Global Brand Director for Aquila Catamarans, added that both the 36 Molokai and 46 Yacht represent the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of power-catamaran design.
Final Thoughts
The dual premieres at FLIBS 2025 highlight a major step forward for Aquila Catamarans. With the global introduction of the 36 Molokai and the U.S. debut of the 46 Yacht, the brand continues to expand its influence and reinforce its leadership in the power-catamaran market.
Both models reflect Aquila’s focus on performance, comfort, and innovation, offering boaters new options across fishing, cruising, and luxury-living segments. As the company’s lineup grows, so does its vision for the future of modern multihull design.
